DJI Osmo Mobile 6 Review

The Osmo Mobile 6 is the gimbal that finally makes smartphone video look intentional. After a week of using it for travel B-roll, family videos, and Instagram reels, it's earned a permanent spot in our daily carry.

What's new

An extension rod is now built into the handle — pull it out for high-angle shots, low-to-the-ground tracking, or a 215mm selfie stick. The magnetic clamp swaps your phone on and off without rebalancing. ActiveTrack 5.0 locks onto a face or object and follows it as you walk.

In use

Battery lasts about 6 hours of active shooting. Folded, it fits in a jacket pocket. The DJI Mimo app adds gesture controls, story templates, and one-tap social formats, which actually save time on quick reels.

What we love

  • Built-in extension rod
  • Magnetic quick-mount
  • Excellent ActiveTrack 5.0
  • 6-hour battery

Where it falls short

  • DJI Mimo app required for full features
  • No tripod legs at the base
