Overview
The Hero 13 Black isn't a sensor revolution — it's a polish pass. New magnetic lens mods, a bigger Enduro battery as standard, and improved HyperSmooth 6.0 stabilization.
Image quality
5.3K60 and 4K120 from the same 1/1.9" sensor as the 12. Excellent in daylight, average in low light — that's the action-cam tradeoff.
Mods that matter
The magnetic Macro, Ultra Wide, and Anamorphic lens mods snap on in seconds. If you're a creator who actually uses these, the 13 is a meaningful upgrade.
Battery
The Enduro battery shipping in-box solves the long-standing complaint. Two hours of 4K30 on a single charge in cool weather.
Verdict
If you have a Hero 11 or earlier, upgrade. Hero 12 owners can skip unless you want the lens mods.
