Neewer 18" Ring Light Review
For selfie creators, makeup artists, and live streamers, the Neewer 18" is the ring light to start with. It is bright enough for daylight-balanced fill at 6 feet, dimmable down to gentle catchlight, and the bi-color temperature lets you match warm or cool ambient light.
What you get
55W of LED output, 3200K–5600K color, a sturdy 6.5' light stand, a phone holder, a camera mount, and a Bluetooth shutter remote. The included carry bag makes it easy to break down for a shoot at a friend's apartment.
Trade-offs
Color accuracy is good for content but not gallery-print quality — CRI hovers around 90. The plastic mounts feel cheap next to Aputure's offerings, but at this price you can replace the whole rig three times before you've spent what one premium unit costs.
What we love
- ✓Bright enough for most rooms
- ✓Bi-color temperature
- ✓Includes stand, phone mount, and remote
- ✓Affordable
Where it falls short
- –Plastic build
- –CRI ~90, not pro-color-critical
FAQ
Can I mount a real camera, not just a phone?
Yes — there is a standard 1/4-20 cold-shoe mount in the center for a small mirrorless or DSLR.
Does it flicker on camera?
No — it's flicker-free up to 1/2000s in our tests.
