What it is
The Xreal Air 2 Pro is a pair of AR glasses that projects a giant virtual display in front of you. Plug them into a USB-C phone, Steam Deck, or laptop and you get a 130-inch screen.
Optical quality
Sony micro-OLED panels deliver punchy colors, deep blacks, and surprisingly sharp text. Three levels of electrochromic dimming let you switch between transparent (see-through) and fully opaque cinema mode.
Use cases that actually work
- Movies on a plane — game-changing
- Productivity with a laptop — solid with the right adapter
- Gaming on Steam Deck / Switch — excellent
Use cases that don't work yet
- Full AR overlays (limited FOV)
- All-day wear (heat builds up)
- Replacing your monitor for serious work
Verdict
If you want a giant private screen for travel, gaming, and movies, the Xreal Air 2 Pro is the easiest recommendation in AR right now.
What we love
- ✓Genuinely huge virtual screen
- ✓Adjustable electrochromic dimming
- ✓Lightweight
Where it falls short
- –Limited FOV vs full VR
- –Tethered
